THE TEAM AT THE GRANARY HOTEL
Each month we will be adding a full staff profile. The first to be added is Scott Dimmock, our Restaurant manager, and Simon Ward, our Food and Beverage manager. See below
Tom Court - Head Chef
Tom has worked with the team at the Granary for just over 10 years and during that time has built a loyal kitchen team to whom he has been both mentor, coach and teacher. Under his tutelage the Granary Restaurant has progressed from 1 to 2 AA Rosettes and is still ambitious for the team. He is applying to compete in the Salon Culinaire in London next year.
He loves cooking Fish, is a keen angler and is devoted to his family. He supports local food producers where at all possible, buys fresh fish every week at the Birmingham Market and has been instrumental in setting up the Granary's own Market Garden
Anthony - Sous Chef
Anthony has shone as Tom's deputy and has a natural focus and concentration that has given real strength to the Kitchen team.
Laura Young nee Gibbons - General Manager
Laura has worked at the Granary for eighteen years starting as a waitress and steadily progressing through the ranks on account of her work ethic , her organisation skills and her charm. The public love her! For those who do not know, Laura is getting married at the end of August - thus the transition from a Gibbons to a Young!
Simon Ward - Food and Beverage Manager
Simon joined the team in November 2010 and has proved a valuable addition to the team. Simon has considerable experience in the Food and Beverage field and you will no doubt meet him when you visit.
Elissa Holyhead -Duty Manager
Elissa joined the hotel after the demise of Pedmore House. What can we say? Unique!
Scott Dimmock - Restaurant and Duty Manager
Scott is working closely with Simon to consistently improve the Restaurant . Scott has worked around the globe and is a most welcome addition to the team.
Jo Burgess - Wedding and Banqueting Coordinator
If you need to talk to someone about organising a function or wedding, Jo is the person to talk to. Jo started work at the Granary some 10 years ago, initially as a part time secretary. Her sense of humour combined with a thorough approach and extensive knowledge of the trade are the hallmark of her professionalism.
Julie Colley - Financial Controller
Without Julie - where would we be!
Maggie Benton - Head Receptionist
Maggie leads the Reception team of Lenny, Emma and Jan. Maggie wanted a career change and a new set of skills so she was mad enough to try the hotel trade! She is a star and a rock in the centre of what is possibly one of the most demanding of jobs.
Marie Sheldon - Corporate and Conference Sales
Marie has extensive experience in the trade including General Manager posts. She is Aquarian and acknowledges that she loves the buzz!
