The Granary Hotel has an illustrious and prestigious pedigree beginning life as a haulage yard and transport café! Okay – so maybe from more humble beginnings.

The hotel as we know it began its life in 1978 when it was converted into a Carvery restaurant – a tradition proudly maintained at lunchtime to this day.

Over the years the site has been transformed into a modern and contemporary 3-star hotel with an AA Rosette restaurant and 18 ensuite bedrooms.  There are also 3 function suites seating from 10 to 200 – ideal for Weddings and parties, Conferences and special occasions.

In 2006 a project was started to create an extensive Market Garden on two and a half acres of land adjacent to the hotel – it’s purpose being to provide a training facility for people with Learning Disabilities.

This social enterprise continues to this day and contains the hotel’s own Vineyard, Herb Garden, Orchard and Vegetable growing areas and is set out in a traditional Parterre system.  The notion of locally sourced produce is now a reality for the hotel Head Chef, keen to maximise the potential of this wonderful asset.

More recently inward investment has created an outdoor Wedding Gazebo, a completely refurbished main function suite, newly refurbished bedrooms and many other improvements to bring the hotel up to date and relevant to today’s demanding times including Free Wi-Fi with Fibre Optic lines.
